Air Conditioner, Refrigerator, Washer and Dryer

Chanced upon Gain City roadshow at Marina Square (early March) and bought some items. Would recommend the air cond salesperson (Jeff) who gave really informative advice regarding air conditioners. On the contrary, I was really fed up with the washer/dryer/refrigerator salesperson who served us. My partner was really patient and told me to let it go...or I wouldn't have bought anything from him at all. Rude, irritating and dishonest. Oh wells.

Items we have purchased:

1. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries System 4

2. Hitachi Refrigerator
I was really set on the black tempered glass version for modern feel but unfortunately - we are unable to stick our fridge magnets on the door panel :( hence, we had to opt for this

3. Electrolux Dryer

Happy with the air-con purchase! Awaiting the other two to be delivered soon..

Site Measurement

After Kai Men part 1, we had our first appointment with ID/contractor on site (which was about 2 weeks back...I know I'm real laggy). He took some time to measure the house and discussed roughly on the details and placement that we want. I can't go through the details because I was only concerned about the entire colour and idea concept rather than the specifics. So, anyway the house before renovation:

The living room area

Main door

Kitchen

Common toilet

Common toilet view 2

Bedroom 1 door & old aircond

Bedroom 1

Old aircond in Master Bedroom

Oh, can't wait to rid of all the old stuff.

Kai Men Part 1

Since this is our first home, we have no idea what to do when we first enter. I asked my parents and they say nothing to do - "just go in and check the house condition". Hmm, so we googled and seek advice/reference :)

Uncle from the neighbourhood shop selling the praying materials

We read through and customize or rather simplify accordingly. So this is what we did:

1) Open door, call out "Ping An Fa Cai" and roll the pineapple into the house
2) Set up the fruits and prayer materials
3) Light the incense sticks and pray to four corners of the house
4) Burn the materials
5) Throw the rice plus salt at all corners of the house.

We left the windows open and return few days later to clear off. Left the basket of fruits below the tree at Level 1. We felt guilty as it was sort of throwing our waste at public area but we had no choice (was advised to leave 'em there).

According to uncle from the praying materials shop, we need to do part 2 after renovation is completed, before shifting in.

Alrighty, all the best to our new home! :)
